stylist robbie spencer has done it again. this collaboration with set designer extraordinaire gary card (who was responsible for the extreme + beauty interior at ln-cc) takes inspiration it seems from britain’s folkloric history. simon costin, renowned fashion art director and set designer, is the man taking charge of celebrating and drawing greater attention to the rich and continuing tradition of folklore as a vital component in the social fabric and cultural identity of the british isles with the musuem of british folklore – (i was lucky enough to recently meet with the team to consult on their upcoming popupshops.) thanks to simon costin and his vision and dedication to the folklore cause – designers, artists, editors and stylists everywhere are taking notice and mythology as trend is true, as people internationally feel the need to become more connected with their heritage and local community. folklore is funky.
photographer henry bourne’s images for the british folklore portrait project showcase the real folk deal.
