

















Vintage 1970’s Ewe Kente Cloth 03
A vintage 1960’s Ewe (pronounced Ev-ay) Kente cloth handwoven with skill and tradition in many colours. This is a ceremonial cloth, traditionally worn by women in a sarong style tied across her chest and under her arms.
Created from narrow strip cloths hand-sewn together to form the larger cloth. The bright tones of this cloth will bring joy and craftsmanship to any room. A unique cloth in very good vintage condition.
Kente textiles were initially reserved for royalty and sacred ceremonies; Kente's intricate patterns and vibrant colours epitomised wealth, status, and cultural sophistication. The cloth also holds spiritual significance and is often found in Asante and Ewe shrines to honour deities.
Within decor today.. Kente Cloths are respectfully utilised and honoured as textile wall art, throws and bedspreads.
Due to the delicate nature of vintage textiles some imperfections are to be expected. Handwash with natural soap and hang to dry. All vintage textile sales are final.
